Abstract Along with higher performance mobile phones and spread of liquid crystal TV's, demands for processing glass boards for hard discs (HD) and liquid crystal displays have been expanding. Consequently, we have developed and commercialized two new models of compact type high-speed spindle units to meet such demands, incorporating a newly developed driving motor.
