Abstract To reduce fuel consumption, automobile transmission has been required to have improved its efficiency and thus multi speed transmission has been increasingly used. In order to realize a high response to cope with multi speed transmission, bonded piston seal (BPS) having a spring mechanism was developed. The BPS has a divided structure to achieve lightweight and low cost.
