We are solving societal problems with our products and technologies used in various industries such as mobility, steel, rail, aviation and aerospace, as well as contributing to the SDGs by proposing carbon-neutral products, etc.
In addition, in recent years we have been promoting "Human Resource Development and Framework Building" with the aim of becoming "a company where every employee can say what they want to say and do what they want to do", and then proactively asking "what customers want" and "what should I do to meet customer needs".

Quality policy and quality assurance system

In the concept of "Quality belongs to Customers", Establishing a quality policy with the motto of "Customer First", we are working on a variety of quality improvement activities. We also maintain and constantly improve a quality assurance system based on this policy. We believe that emphasizing "design quality and manufacturing quality" and seeking quality at each stage allow us to improve overall product quality and gain our customers' trust. Our quality policy is posted and chanted to be penetrated and taken root at all of the companies.

In order to "provide quality that customers continue to choose," we are working to improve quality based on the basic concepts of "protecting the safety and security of end-users" and "Prevent inconvenience to customers." .

  • 1. Secure MONOZUKURI quality, "No flow out/occurrence" of critical function/ regulation/ large volume defect
  • 2. Secure product safety and security at design & production preparation stage
    :Review the system based on "learnings" from recalls and field claim, and implement it in individual projects to visualize and reduce risks.
  • 3. Make "Bad News First"・ continuous KAIZEN of job process recurrence prevention utilizing failures as "treasures"
Improvement through periodic inspections of quality management system

JTEKT continues to receive periodic inspections once a year by third parties and uses the results to further revise and improve its quality control system.

Initiatives to reform company culture and raise customer satisfaction levels

Until now, JTEKT has carried out awareness-raising measures as "November is Quality Month." We have newly designated ""February as Our job basics Month" and ""May as Customer Month"", and are providing measures throughout the year to encourage employees to think and change their behavior.
We carry out various activities, such as exhibits related to past serious defects that should not be forgotten at the Quality Tradition Museum (WEB) and events where member can experience defects.

Conducting a customer satisfaction survey

As in previous years, in FY2023 we conducted customer satisfaction surveys targeting our main customers. In order to improve satisfaction in the five areas of quality, delivery, technical response capability, cost response capability and technical/sales service, we shared the issues revealed by these surveys and are exerting efforts to solve them promptly and appropriately.

Supplying ONI BEARING to bicycle race teams

Team Visma/Lease a, the world's best road bike team, won the triple crown in the three major UCI tours (Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España) in 2023. We have signed an official partner agreement to supply ONIBEARING to its bike.
We supply ONI BEARING, which boasts an overwhelmingly low torque compared to existing road bike bearings, to customers who pursue overwhelming speed. Through this initiative, we will promote sports and contribute to society.

Developed actuator compatible with small truck ADAS

In order to realize safer and more comfortable driving of Isuzu Motors Ltd.'s new "ELF" and "ELF EV", we have developed and supplied a "C-EPS type steering actuator" that contributes to ADAS.
Together with our customers, we will work to reduce the driving burden on commercial vehicle drivers and provide safe driving support.

"Libuddy®" adopted for the first time in a commercially available product

Our highly heat-resistant lithium ion capacitor "Libuddy®" has been adopted by Hagiwara Techno Solutions Co., Ltd. for its UPS.
We will continue to propose Libuddy's heat resistance performance and durability, which were highly evaluated upon adoption, to a variety of customers. Libuddy will work together with our customers to contribute to solving various social issues.
